The SureFit Measurement Team

Every measurement on SureFit is checked by the SureFit Measurement Team — the editorial desk that compiles, sources and verifies appliance dimensions. Our standard is simple: a number is published only when it traces to the manufacturer’s own spec sheet or ENERGY STAR’s certified-product data. If we can’t source it, we leave it blank.

Who we are

SureFit is an independent appliance-dimensions reference, and the Measurement Team maintains the dataset behind it — currently 6,500 models across refrigerators, dishwashers, washers, dryers, freezers and coolers. We’re not a retailer, and no manufacturer pays to be listed or ranked.

How we verify a dimension

  • Two authoritative sources only. Height, width, depth and capacity come from the U.S. EPA/DOE ENERGY STAR database and from manufacturers’ published specification sheets — never estimated, crowd-sourced, or scraped from retail listings.
  • Matched to the exact model. Every figure is tied to a specific model number, and each cabinet cutout we publish links to the manufacturer spec sheet it was read from — so you can check it yourself.
  • Validate-or-blank. A cutout or clearance is published only after it cross-checks against the model’s overall dimensions. Anything that doesn’t reconcile is left blank rather than guessed.

What we won’t do

We don’t publish star ratings, fake reviews, or invented “expert” bylines. The credibility here is the method, not a manufactured persona: sourced numbers, shown sources, and honest gaps. See exactly how we measure, or browse the full dataset.

Frequently asked

Who measures the dimensions on SureFit?
The SureFit Measurement Team — our editorial desk. We compile and verify every figure against ENERGY STAR certified-product data and the manufacturer’s own spec sheet for that exact model number.
Do you estimate any numbers?
No. If a dimension isn’t in ENERGY STAR’s data or a manufacturer spec sheet, we leave it blank and mark it pending rather than guess. A wrong number costs a return; a blank one costs nothing.
Can I see the source for a cutout?
Yes. Every model page that lists a manufacturer cabinet cutout links directly to the spec sheet that cutout was read from, so you can verify it against your own opening.
