Sub-Zero Refrigerator Dimensions: Built-In Columns & Sizes
Sub-Zero is a built-in brand — almost every unit is designed to sit flush in cabinetry rather than stand freestanding. That makes two numbers non-negotiable: the 84″ column height and the flush 24″ depth. Width is where the lineup varies. Here are the sizes and what your opening needs.
Sub-Zero sizes at a glance
| Dimension | Range |
|---|---|
| Height (built-in columns & units) | 84″ |
| Width | 18, 24, 27, 30, 36, 42, 48″ |
| Depth (flush built-in) | ~24″ |
Heights and widths are from the models we track; built-in depth is the standard 24″ flush-install figure. Built-in units require a finished cabinet opening (niche) — confirm the exact niche on the model’s own spec sheet before building.
How Sub-Zero sizing works
- Columns are 84″ tall. All-refrigerator and all-freezer columns (the DEC/CL series) run a full 84″ so they align with surrounding tall cabinetry.
- Width is the choice. Columns come in 18, 24, 30 and 36″; built-in over-and-under and side-by-side units run 30–48″. Pair an 18″ freezer column with a 30″ fridge column, for example, to build a custom 48″ run.
- Flush 24″ depth. Sub-Zero is engineered to finish flush with 24″ cabinetry, which is why it reads as part of the kitchen rather than a standalone box.
- It needs a cutout. Built-in means a framed opening sized to the unit — not a gap you slide a freestanding fridge into. Get the niche dimensions from the spec sheet for your exact model.
