Side-by-Side Refrigerator Dimensions

A side-by-side refrigerator splits into two full-height columns — fridge on one side, freezer on the other. The narrow doors suit a galley kitchen (less swing room), but each compartment is slim. Standard models run 33–36″ wide. Here are the dimensions and every side-by-side we track.

Typical side-by-side dimensions

Standard form factors for the side-by-side models we track; built-in side-by-sides run wider (up to ~48″) and a full 84″ tall. The two narrow doors need less swing clearance than a French door — the reason side-by-sides suit tight galleys — but the freezer column is slim, so measure tall or wide frozen items.

Fit notes

• Narrow doors, standard depth. Each door is about half the cabinet width, so door-swing is modest; the body is still standard-depth (33–35″) unless you pick counter-depth (~31″ total).
• 36″ means a 36″ opening. The case is just under 36″; leave the small side and top air gap GE/Whirlpool/etc. specify.
• Through-door water & ice. Most side-by-sides dispense through the door — budget rear clearance for the water line.
